Gururbrahma, gurur Vishnu, gurur devo maheswara, gurur sakshat parabrahm, tasmasvi guruve namah.

A teacher is a friend, a philosopher, a guiding light, an inspiration. A teacher is like a candle who burns brightly to enlighten others. So I salute all the teachers.

In India, 5 September is a very auspicious day, celebrated across the country as Teacher’s Day. This occasion acknowledges the commendable devotion of teachers towards their students. Students commemorate this day differently to express their thanks to their Gurus (teachers).

We, PDM 13 students of Tata-Dhan Academy, also celebrated this big day. We presented small gifts to our teachers. And, for fun we made few chits with different questions for teachers–like why did they select teaching, who is their favorite student, how did they enjoy their lives as students, or any good moment that they never shared with anyone. We also asked them to sing a few songs. Each student shared their reflections about the importance of teachers in their lives. At the end, a tree was planted by the hands of our teachers as a memory of this day.

The good participation of both students and teachers made this moment enjoyable and memorable. We also missed few teachers those were not present at the day. We wish all of them a happy Teachers Day.
